- NO TICK. NONE — A sweep quartz movement glides the second hand instead of jumping it. In a quiet room the loudest thing you will hear is the fridge.
- READABLE FROM ACROSS THE ROOM — A 12-inch dial with high-contrast markers and slim hands. No decorative numerals that blur at three metres.
- SOLID OAK FRAME, NOT VENEER — A 0.6-inch solid oak ring, sanded and oiled, with a matte white face that will not yellow under sunlight.
- ACCURATE TO ±1 SECOND A DAY — A temperature-compensated quartz movement, rated from 14°F to 122°F, so a kitchen wall does not throw it off.
- HANGS IN TWO MINUTES — One AA battery, one screw, and a built-in spirit level tab so it goes up straight the first time.

Materials
Oak, oil, and nothing pretending to be oak
The Meridian frame starts as a single oak ring, sanded to 240 grit and finished with a food-safe hardwax oil. There is no printed grain, no vinyl wrap, no lacquer that chips at the corner. If it picks up a scratch in five years, a drop of oil will blend it back in.
- Solid oak, 0.6 in profile
- Hardwax oil finish
- Matte dial that resists UV yellowing

12 inches
Large enough for a living room, small enough for a hallway.
“I have not heard it once. That is the highest compliment I can give a clock.”

Questions
Before you buy
The questions our support team answers most about this product.
Is it really silent?
Yes. The movement sweeps continuously and is damped, measuring about 22dB at one metre — quieter than a whisper. There is no tick.
Will the oak frame match my furniture?
The frame is a light-to-medium oak with a warm, slightly matte oil finish. It sits closest to IKEA oak, Article walnut-light and most Scandinavian pieces.
Can it go in a bathroom?
It handles normal humidity, but we would not put it directly over a shower. Steam cycling will eventually dull the oil finish.
How often do I change the battery?
Roughly once a year. When the second hand starts to stutter, that is your signal.
