Materials
The Meridian frame starts as a single oak ring, sanded to 240 grit and finished with a food-safe hardwax oil. There is no printed grain, no vinyl wrap, no lacquer that chips at the corner. If it picks up a scratch in five years, a drop of oil will blend it back in.
Measured at one metre. Quieter than a whisper, inaudible from a sofa.
Temperature-compensated movement, stable from 14°F to 122°F.
Large enough for a living room, small enough for a hallway.
“I have not heard it once. That is the highest compliment I can give a clock.”

Put it in a nursery and stood there for two minutes trying to hear it. Nothing. The oak is real — you can see the grain change around the frame. Hangs flush and the level tab is a nice touch.
12 inches is accurate, I just didn’t measure before ordering. It looks right in a hallway, slightly small over a sofa. The face is very readable and the sweep is smooth. Would buy again in a 16 inch if they made one.
My previous clock was audible from the bedroom. This one is not. Battery lasted about 13 months. The dial has a subtle texture that keeps it from looking flat.
Design is exactly what I wanted for a warm minimal room. I would have liked the option to remove the second hand entirely. Still, no complaints about quality or accuracy after four months.
Clock is great, keeps perfect time. The box arrived slightly dented and the frame had a tiny scuff on one edge. Support offered a partial refund within a day, so I kept it.
Questions
The questions our support team answers most about this product.
Yes. The movement sweeps continuously and is damped, measuring about 22dB at one metre — quieter than a whisper. There is no tick.
The frame is a light-to-medium oak with a warm, slightly matte oil finish. It sits closest to IKEA oak, Article walnut-light and most Scandinavian pieces.
It handles normal humidity, but we would not put it directly over a shower. Steam cycling will eventually dull the oil finish.
Roughly once a year. When the second hand starts to stutter, that is your signal.
